What is The Crosswire Review?
The Crosswire Review is a student-led publication focused on thoughtful analysis, culture, politics, economics, and ideas that matter across borders.
We publish work that is curious, critical, and well-argued — whether that’s an essay, commentary, review, or long-form article. Our aim is not to chase clicks, but to foster serious student writing and meaningful debate.
Our relationship with Forward College
The Crosswire Review is affiliated with Forward College, but it is editorially independent.
This means:
- We are run by students
- Editorial decisions are made by the board
- Contributors are not required to be Forward College students
- Opinions published do not represent Forward College as an institution
Forward College supports the publication as a platform for intellectual exchange, but does not control content, viewpoints, or editorial direction.
What is Forward College?
Forward College is an international higher-education institution that rethinks how university education works.
It combines:
- Small, discussion-based classes
- A strong liberal arts foundation
- Campuses in major European cities (including Lisbon)
- A focus on critical thinking, global perspectives, and real-world engagement
Forward College students are encouraged to go beyond the classroom, and The Crosswire Review exists as one of those spaces for ideas, writing, and public discourse.

How the Process Works

- Our editorial team reviews your submission
- If accepted, you’ll receive an invite to write your article on our platform
- Once finished the final draft, an editor will refine the piece and contact you
- Once finalised, your article is published with full credit
